Collection: Rakshabandhan Gift Hampers

Native Tongue has been a crusader of Indian Food Movement. We take pride in bringing Native Indian Produce to the spotlight through our product range. This Raksha Bandhan we want to take the same thought ahead. 

We are introducing a beautiful Raksha Bandhan hamper of twin Jars that can be shipped across major cities in India. Along with the hamper we are sending Rakhis sourced from a very special initiative by Gram Art Project. These Rakhis are called Beej Bandh or Seed Bands that are embedded with garden friendly native variety of organic seeds such as Amaranth, Palash, Babool, Purslane, and many more. Thread for the Rakhis is woven over a charkha by women of Gram Sewa Mandal, Wardha and is made from organic indigeneous variety of cotton that is locally grown by the farmers of that area. The entire Rakhi and all the accompanying stationary can be sprouted and sown into a potted plant.

What more? Every Seed Band is symbolic and tells an important story with a social message. I urge you to go and visit their page @gramartproject to listen beautifully narrated Beej Bandh stories by the women folks of Wardha. *Kamjor nahi hum* is the important message that is to the forefront of this project.
